Description
Photograph of Chinese houses and a cemetery in Mormon Bar, Mariposa, ca.1930. A partial wall of an adobe house stands center. The wall is much taller than the women with arms at her sides who stands to the left looking at the ruins. Just behind her a wire fence with wooden posts can be seen with what appears to be the ruins of several connected adobe walls sitting in front of the backdrop of trees. These walls seemed to be filed down to no more than a few feet high. They are barely taller than the tall grass and weeds that surround them. More trees cover the hills in the distance.; Picture file card reads "Ruins of adobe houses of Chinese who had their homes apart from the other settlers of Mormon Bar. 'All Chinese bones have been removed and sent to China for burial'".
