Description
Photograph of a view of the main street in Angel's Camp, showing the Eldorado Hotel on the right, [s.d.]. At left is a wooden building with a covered porch held up by thin wooden posts. A sign hanging from the roof reads "Justice of the Peace". The two-story Eldorado hotel is across the unpaved street at right; several cars are parked in front of it. This place retains many buildings reminiscent of the mining days. The Eldorado Hotel was a favorite overnight stop for Yosemite stages and was destroyed by fire on November 25, 1936 at which time it was called the Calaveras Hotel.
