Description
Photographic portrait of Llewellyn Bixby, Long Beach, [s.d.]. Mr. Llewellyn, one of the Bixby family famous for their land holdings in California during the late 1800's and early 1900's, can be seen in bust with what appears to be a wool suit jacket pulled over a vest. A ribbon appears to be hanging across his chest. He wears his collar up under the bondage of a bow-tie. His face is young and relatively wrinkle-free, his dark hair combed to the left. Llewellyn's daughter, Sarah Bixby Smith, went on to write a memoir about early American rule called "Adobe Days", published in 1925.
