Description
Photograph of a posed Colonel Celso Vego, ca.1906. He can be seen in full figure turned slightly to the left. He is standing on a wood floor near a wall with his right hand inside his partially unbuttoned uniform jacket. His left hand is laying on the scabbard of his sheathed sabre hanging at his left. He wears a dark handlebar moustache and his short dark hair is combed back from his forehead. Epaulets on his shoulders each have one star on them. Benches are visible against the wall in the left background. He was on the staff of General Luis Torres. He was born 1851 and was 2nd in command to the local politician, or "jefe político", of the Northern District, Baja California beginning 1903.
