Description
Photograph of an exterior view of Memorial Church from underneath an arcade or corridor at Stanford University, ca.1900. Just beyond the large archways that stand above in the foreground is a field of trimmed grass divided by paved walkways. At center are two large, circular areas filled with a variety of trees and plants. Behind the trees at center the front wall of the church can be seen with a detailed painting of biblical figures covering the top of the wall. A cross stands on the tip of the roof and the thick steeple stands above towards the right with arched windows, clocks on each side, and a large cross on top. Shaded corridors lined with archways can be seen on either side of the church.
