Description
Photograph of an exterior view of historic Woodside store near San Mateo, ca.1900. A picket fence stands across the foreground while the old, wooden store stands behind it. Trees in front and behind shade the yard around the building as well as the leaf-covered roof. The windows on the first floor have been busted in and the lightly-colored door at left is stained.; One of the oldest redwood buildings in California. Built entirely of redwood milled on site. A store operated here from 1845. It was a center for mail, groceries and liquid refreshments for lumberjaks within a radius of five miles when fifteen saw mills operated for ten years.
