Description
Photograph of the Mamouth Company's smelter near Redding, [s.d.]. A set of tracks wind along the left bank of the creek on the right to the large, wooden structures at center. A tall, thick, cylindrical pipe stands far above the other structures and puffs a continuous cloud of smoke into the air above. Shorter, wooden structures stand directly below the pipe while the larger buildings sit just to the right of it. Another small, lightly-colored structure sits among the skeletal trees on the dirt hill in the foreground while several more structures can be seen scattered among the wooded hills in the background.
