He is holding a hat at left and is resting on a cane at right. He is wearing a dark suit and white shirt. He has short dark hair and a dark mustache and goatee. There is a fur-covered chair at right, and a painted backdrop behind him shows a fireplace at left. In addition to holding many public offices, he was State Treasurer and son of the founder of the Estudillo family of San Diego.
