Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Mission Santa Clara from the street, ca.1898. The two-story romanesque facade of the mission's main building is shown just left of center along a wide, unpaved road. Several trees stand in the left foreground on the sidewalk, their foliage obscuring much of the entrance, although both bell towers can be seen above them. A fence stands in front of the building, made of adobe and wrought-iron. In the right distance, a second two-story building can be seen along the street, also with romanesque features. In the far left foreground, the back tire of a bicycle can be seen.
