Description
Photograph of a painting depicting the Mission Santa Clara de Asis, ca.1900. The two-story chapel of the mission is pictured slightly to the right in the background, its entrance surrounded by a wrought-iron fence. The belltower extends from the left side of the chapel, just beyond which the one-story adobe of the monk's quarters can be seen, the roof's overhang supported by a colonnade. In the foreground, a group of men and women are pictured being pulled in an ox-drawn cart which a man standing to the right attends. In the left foreground, a tall cross can be seen planted in the ground.
