Description
Photograph of Jumbo, which marks the largest trees in Big Tree Grove, Santa Cruz County, ca.1900. The bottom portion of the tree can be seen at center with fallen leaves and cluttering the ground around it. The tree's diameter occupies most of the view, but a small, lightly-colored structure can be seen in the background on the left. "Derives its name from a peculiar growth on side of tree, resembling an elephant's head".
