Description
Photograph of a view of I Street (later Valley Boulevard) in Colton, ca.1907. Horse-drawn carriages and an early automobile can be seen traveling on the street. The leaves of a tree with long branches partially block the view of the buildings at left. At right, the Colton City Hall building can be seen, featuring an Arabian-style minaret. Just in front of this, the brick Anderson Hotel building can be seen on the corner of 8th Street (later La Cadena). The building at left featuring minarets is the Gilbert building, while the building in the far left foreground may be the First National Bank. Legible signs include: "Hamilton & Co. G[rocerie]s", "Adamson Prop. casters market", "C.B. Hamilton", "Dr. Goods groceries".
