Description

Photograph of an exterior view of Aircraft Accessories Corporation plant, March 1942. The two-story factory can be seen at center. It is a light-colored building with banks of rectangular windows along its perimeter. The name of the company appears over the door at center, and a ladder leads up to the sign. Automobiles can be seen parked on the street around the building and utility lines are visible overhead.

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
