Photograph of a night view of the administration building lobby of Garret Corporation's AiResearch Aviation Service Division, Los Angeles International Airport, ca.1950. The image shows the three sides of the modern-styled lobby enclosed by glass; people can be seen inside the lobby and plants are surrounding the glass area for decorative purposes. A large building can be seen behind it, which seems to serve as an airplane storage and exposes the tail of an airplane inside. A small pick-up truck with a small sign that says "Caution" is visible in front of the partially visible airplane. On top of this building sits an electric sign which reads: "AiResearch Aviation Service Co.".

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
