Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a hotel in Whiskey Town, ca.1900 (ca.1930?). Trees line the raised sidewalk that supports the hotel with a white well sunk through the front porch on the right. The building is two stories tall with white wooden paneling and a short staircase that leads from the door to the sidewalk and street below. Further down the street a sign that reads "Welcome to Whiskey Town" protrudes from the trees. A wooden fence stands to the left of the hotel while several other white structures can be seen further down the road.; Photo file card reads "This place still boasts of a hotel. The rest of the town is gone. A feature of the hotel is a well sunk through the front porch -- its white cement sides can be seen near the right side of the photo. Here the guests can help themselves. The old bucket and rope are still there".
