Description
Photograph of exterior of the Consolidated Rock Products Company, showing name of building, April 1929. At center, the large exterior of the rectangular building can be seen. Several columns support the lower part of the building. Six arched entryways can be seen along the building's base. Two men wearing brimmed hats can be seen standing near one of these entryways. Above the arches, the title "Los Nietos Bunkers" can be seen. Along the sides of the building, several column and support beams can be seen. At the top of the structure, aseveral stairwells can be seen, and a small room is visible at its peak. In the immediate foreground, a large patch of vegetation lies next to a square building. Wires can be seen running from the square building at ground level to the small room at the top of the structure. In the extreme background, utiltity poles and trees can be seen to the left while metallic towers are visible to the right. Note: section of lettering below the title of the building has been intentionally removed.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
