Description
Photograph of a steam locomotive outside the Southern Pacific Railroad depot in San Jose, ca.1900. The large engine is in the foreground at right and is facing to the right of the viewer. Steam is spewing out from the front of the train, which is connected to a line of boxcars that extends into a large shed in the background at left. This shed is connected to several other buildings, visible at left. Horse-drawn wagons and carts are parked near the buildings, and several pedestrians are standing on the platform to the left of the train.
