Description
Photograph of Pinto Lake in Watsonville, ca.1900. Balls of grass sit in a small yard of dry grass in the foreground with bushes lining the water's edge just beyond. The lake is barely rippling as it hits the tree-covered banks on the right and flows out of sight on the left. A smooth field can be seen behind the trees on the opposite bank in the background.; Photoprint reads: "Color cards appropriate to the following description of picture. The foreground is a hillside from which the hay in shocks has been out. The willows bordering lake are green, water blue hills bordering lake are green gradually darkening into the blueish green mountains in the distance. The sky was somewhat cloudy when picture was taken. Take out the words meddaugh, photo appearing in picture and insert on cards near margin in small type, (as per other cards made for [...]) 'Krough's'. You are to use your best judgment as to detailed color scheme for all these cards as your artists are more capable than myself".
