Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the old White Hotel in Aptos, Santa Cruz County, ca.1930. An automobile is parked at the bottom of several steps on the hotel that lead to the front porch. A man sits on these steps against on of the many pillars that supports the second floor. One of the two doorways stands just behind the man and large rectangular windows can be seen in the walls around them as well as in the walls of the second story. Several protruding windows can be seen in the shingled roof that is rounded almost like a dome. A "For Sale" sign can be seen above the front entrance while trees and smaller structures can be seen on either side of the hotel.; Picture file card reads "The old White Hotel, now empty, was a landmark at Aptos in the later part of the 1870's when the Southern Pacific Railroad traveled through here".
