Description
Photograph of two neophytes at work on reconstruction of Mission San Luis Rey, 1904. Viewed through a semi-circular arch, one man works with a shovel, the other with a wheelbarrow, moving debris. The arch is the highest structure still standing among the ruin of low adobe walls and part of a row of arches. A three-story simple wooden building with a ladder leaning against it is visible in the distance.
