Description
Photograph of flood damage resulting from San Gabriel fire, 1924. This photo shows the Duarte Cut from the Pacific Electric Railway. A long trench runs form the right foreground to the left background. The deep trench is lined by piles of dirt on both sides while men can be seen digging at the bottom. A large piece of construction machinery can be seen in the trench to the left of center while refuse can be seen scattered in the left foreground. A road on the left is visible at the edge while a bridge can be seen crossing over the trench in the distance. Water seems to fill the back half of the trench while horses line the right side next to a road. Photoprint reads: "Views 16 and 17."
