Description
The tree of the middle place, Los Angeles, 1992, Canoe Storage House (at the park), exterior, Echo Park Avenue and Park Avenue, Echo Park. Done in honor of the 500-year anniversary of the meeting of the old and new worlds and cultures. Shown are native plants of the Americas using Aztec and Mayan symbols, Chumash astrological imagery, and a western European representation of the sun and moon. Acrylic, 9' x 60', by Barbara Benish.
