Description
Together: Working toward a flourishing society, 1995, The Chinatown annex, exterior, 300 Cesar Chavez Avenue (at Broadway). Tribute to the Chinese experience of immigration to the United States through various cultural images, such as the Great Wall of China, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the mythical gold mountain, and the phoenix, which represents reincarnation. The three major Chinese characters translate to "together we can build a better community." By Students at Lincoln, Belmont, Marshall, and Bravo High Schools, under the direction of Christina Miguel Mullen. Acrylic, cylinder, 8' x 10'.
