Galileo, Jupiter, Apollo, 1983, Hollywood Fwy. (101) North at Spring Street. Pieces of classical Greek sculpture and architecture float past planets in this space landscape. By John Wehrle. Silicate on concrete, 24' x 207'. Sponsored by LAOOC. -- Dunitz, Street gallery, p. 44, #61. Painted for the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California. It was restored in 2004 by the artist; the mural has since been destroyed -- http://muralconservancy.org/murals/galileo-jupiter-apollo viewed on Oct. 11, 2012.
