Fairfax community mural, West Hollywood, 1985, People's Market building, exterior facing parking lot, Fairfax Avenue (between Oakwood and Rosewood avenues), West Hollywood. A collage in black and white, based on old photographs, depicting the history of Los Angeles Jews. This inter-generational service project involved seniors and youth, both Jewish and non-Jewish, from the Fairfax neighborhood. Acrylic, 7 panels, 12' x 110'. Designer and artistic supervisor Art Mortimer. Collaborating artists Stephen Raul Anaya and Peri Fleischman. Adult school coordinating artist Sandra B. Moss. Participants also included 23 adults and 19 teens. Sponsored by Youth Dept., Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles. -- Dunitz, Street gallery, p. 87, #15.
