Title
Dial 900 society, Crenshaw High School, Los Angeles, 1992
Description
Dial 900 society, 1992, 5010 11th Avenue (at 50th Street), by Ian White with about 10 art students of teacher Susan Curren. Crenshaw High School parking lot. Play on words and satire are used to illustrate some of the contradictions and social ills of our contemporary "900 number society". In one panel the image of a homeless man on a park bench is juxtaposed with the high-priced Park Place square on a Monopoly gameboard. Acrylic, 3 panels, approximately 7.5' x 8' each. Sponsored by Museum of African Art and L.A. Cultural Affairs Department. -- Dunitz, Street gallery, rev. 2nd ed., p. 220, #53.
