Description
Detail 2 of 2 of La Doliente de Hidalgo (The sorrow of Father Hidalgo), 1976, Mercado Hidalgo, exterior, 4101 City Terrace Avenue (at Miller avenue). Originally from Spain, Father Miguel Hidalgo was a leader of the Mexican independence movement. The mural was partially restored in 1990. In acrylic on stucco, 3 panels, 92' x 15' by Willie Herron III -- Dunitz, Street gallery, rev. 2nd ed., p. 300, #25.
