Description

Detail 1 of 1 of The chain undone, 1992, Florence Gardner Pictures and Framing, exterior, 10534 West Pico Boulevard (between Patricia and Prosser Avenues). The mural's theme is the imminent destruction of more wetlands. The mural is divided into three sections. In the large central portion is a vibrantly colored marsh full of birds. Encroaching from the sides are threatening black-and-white images of industrial development, pollution and the destruction of civilization by war. In acrylic, 16' x 79' by Eva Cockcroft with assistance from Agustin Gonzales, Otono Lujan and Bill Agee.
