Description

Peace and love, 1976, Watts Towers Art Center, exterior on west-facing door, 1727 East 107th Street (between Willowbrook Avenue and Alameda Street), The head of an African American man in the central image. The lock, key and open bool around hik point to the message that education is the way to unlock a person's mind and gain happiness. In acrylic, 3' x 6' by Elliott Pinkney -- Dunitz, Street gallery, rev. 2nd ed., p. 213, #11.
