Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Jose Silvas adobe, with rickety picket fence, San Juan Capistrano, ca.1930. The one-story ranch house adobe is visible from a distance at center. In front, a picket fence can be seen lining the property, several pickets missing and its gate lopsided on the hinges and hanging open. A an elbow joint of metal piping rises up out of the ground and takes a path through the branches of a large tree large at right. Smaller trees are visible at left. A dirt road is visible in the foreground. The adobe is located west of the Santa Fe Railroad tracks and was built in 1794.
