Description
Trucha! Vital decisions ahead, Lincoln Heights, 1988. Lincoln Heights Recreation Center, exterior, 2303 Workman Street (between Broadway and Manitou Avenue), Lincoln Heights. In the center is a youth with arms outstretches, being pulled in two directions. On one side is death, the dangerous outcome of choosing involvement in drugs or gangs. On the other side are his parents offering love and support. The mural was originally done for a television after-school special about gangs, directed by Jesus Trevino. After the TV shoot was complete, the recreation center agreed to let the mural remain. 10' x 20', by East Los Streetscapers (David Botello, Rudy Calderon, Wayne Healy). Sponsored by Group W Productions. -- Dunitz, Street gallery, p. 320, #79.
