USC President Rufus von KleinSmid opens the doors to the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library, September 12, 1932. USC President Rufus von KleinSmid dubbed the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library: "the very heart of the University . . . sending out the lifeblood of truth and light to all members of the university body" in his dedication address. At left stand Edward L. Doheny III, Lucy E. Doheny, William H. Doheny, and Lucy M. Doheny. At the right stands California Governor James Rolf Jr.
