Description
Photograph of workers unloading Los Angeles kerosene at a Chinese river port, [s.d.]. A ship with one mast can be seen at center near a dock at right. Several men can be seen carrying boxes on their shoulders while standing on a board extended between the dock and ship. The ship's wheel can be seen at left, while "Shamrock Shamrock, Shanghai Shanghai" can be seen painted on the front of the ship. Trees and a building can be seen on the far bank of the river in the background along with a few other ships.

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
