Description
Photograph of the Orange County Armistice Day celebration in Huntington Beach, November 11, 1924. A paved street lined with two-story buildings is at center. Many early-model automobiles are parked along the sides, and hundreds of pedestrians can be seen along the sidewalks. Three American flags are hung from a wire over the street, while more flags can be seen along the road. A large sign over the street in the background reads "Orange County Armistice Day Celebration November 11".; Other legible signs include, from left to right: "Obarr's Drugs Soda", "Daley's", "Huntington Cleaners Dryers", "The Palace Billiards", "Hotel", "Buffet", "Trust and Savings Bank", "Bank Hotel", "Furnished R[ooms]", "Home State Bank", "Billiards", "Paint", "Home Dining Room", and "Drug".

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
