Description
Photograph of the back yard of the adobe home of Pedro (Antonio?) Valenzuela in disarray, San Juan Capistrano, ca.1930. A woman can be seen backlit through the doorway at the left of the adobe, underneath what appears to be a makeshift awning that extends from the outside wall of the home and not the roof. To the right, a large bush in the foreground obscures much of the seen, although a barrel, wood frame, and an uncompleted section of the awning are visible near a second door at right. Rocks line the beginning of a path to the left which opens out to an unkempt swath of dusty earth and scrub vegetation. An earlier record reads "Home of 'Antonio Valenzuela who was granted it with 200 acres of Mission land in 1841...'".
