Art deco interpretation of the indigenous civilizations of Latin America, untitled, Monrovia, 1925. Aztec Hotel, interior entry foyer, 311 West Foothill Boulevard (between North Magnolia Avenue and North Alta Vista Avenue), Monrovia. Art deco interpretation of the indigenous civilizations of Latin America. The only mural of the original several to remain at this location following major restoration in 1983. The others were removed and donated to the collection of the architect's drawings and ephemera at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Artist unknown (may have been the wife or mother-in-law of the hotel's architect, Robert Stacy-Judd). -- Dunitz, Street gallery, rev. 2nd ed., p. 335, #1.
