Description
Photograph of the exterior of the Old Custom House (later owned by the Native Sons) in Monterey, ca.1898. Railroad tracks run between the two-story stone building and the ocean on one side. On the other side streetcar rails are visible in the dirt road with electric lines above. A covered second-floor balcony runs around the oceanside of the building. A tall pole extends straight up on the corner of the building. Painted on the wall of the adjacent building is ..."ette [...]key, served from the wood here, A.A. Moseley". Across the water a pier can be seen as well as houses on the opposite shore.
