Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Casa de Los Rios adobe, seen through a lush garden, ca.1890. A walkway is demarcated with stones to either side and leads down the center of the image to the front door of the one-story ranch house. On either side of the path, tall, lush foliage of all types can be seen, and a garden hose can be seen uncoiled to the left. Only one window is visible on the adobe, and is situated on the left side from which the door is recessed. A brick chimney extends at right from the wood-shingled roof. The adobe was built in 1794 and destoryed by an earthquatek in 1933. An earlier record reads "Rios family still own it".
