Description
Photograph of an exterior view of William Wrigley, Jr.'s house on Santa Catalina Island, January 14, 1928. The large two-story house can be seen on a hill at center. There are two buildings, one at right and the larger one at left. They are light-colored and have dark roofs. The grounds around the buildings are covered by neatly trimmed grass. The hillside in the foreground is mostly bare except for a small number of thick bushes. The ocean is visible in the background.

Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
