Photograph of a view of Zane Grey's yacht seen through eucalyptus trees on Mount Ada, Catalina Island, ca.1927. The three-mast sailing vessel can be seen in the distance at left. It is a light-colored boat and its sails are stowed. The water of the ocean is very calm. In the foreground, a brushy hillside is visible, and a line of three eucalyptus trees can be seen.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
