Photograph looking east on Live Oak Avenue below Santa Anita Avenue, Arcadia, October 30, 1930. A wide paved road can be seen from the center foreground into the background. An automobile and large truck can be seen on the road towards the background. Utility poles line both sides of the road, while a few homes obscured by trees can be seen at left and right. What appears to be a crop field can be seen at right.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
