Photograph of an exterior view of Longfellow's home at 516 Walnut Avenue, Arcadia, October 30, 1930. The house can be seen at left and is a single-story ranch-style building with light-colored walls and a dark roof. A brick chimney can be seen as well. At right, a large agricultural field is visible, while a long narrow barn can be seen in the background at center. A row of trees runs across the image in the foreground near a dirt road. This house was on a two and one-half acre ranch.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
