Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Lugo Ranch home near Bell on Downey Road and Gage Avenue, December 8, 1933. The two-story home can be seen at center composed of vertical wooden planks. A wrap-around balcony is visible on the second story, while stairs can be seen on the exterior of the home leading from the first story to the second. Rectangular windows are visible, as well as a bench near the stairs. Bushes can be seen in front of the home at center and at left, while a second home is visible at right. Tracks can be seen in the unpaved drive in front of the home.

Description
The nearly 15,000 unique photographs of this collection contain the work of C.C. Pierce which cover the Los Angeles region city, street and architectural views, California Missions, Southwestern Native Americans, and turn-of-century Nevada, Arizona, and California. Pierce, active from 1886 to 1940, was one of the leading photographers of his day and amassed a collection of 15,000 images, including his own and those bought and copied from his contemporaries, George Wharton James and Charles Puck. The James collection contains over 2,000 images of portraits, customs, ceremonies, arts, and games of various groups of Southwestern Native Americans.
