Description
Photograph of a view of the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, [s.d.]. Hollywood Boulevard runs from the foreground at right into the background at left, and is crossed by Vine Street in the foreground. Many early-model automobiles can be seen on the road, while pedestrians are visible as they stroll along the sidewalks that border both streets. Two-story buildings can be seen on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard, and the very tall, rectangular Guaranty Building can be seen at right.; Legible signs include, from left: "Vine St.", "Hollywood Branch Security Trust and Savings Bank", "Guaranty Building and Loan Association", "Guaranty Bldg.", "Western Auto Supply Co.", "Hollywood Play House with Burton Churchill Opens Jan 24th in Alias the Deacon", "Auto Park", "Dodge Brothers Motor Cars", "Graham Brothers Trucks", "C.A. Gray", "Rent New Car U-Drive", and "Now".

California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
