Description
Photograph of a view of cars moving down streets in the Pike, an amusment area for Redondo Beach tourists, ca.1924. To the left, two lanes of automobiles make their way up and own the street while other autos are parked diagonally on either side. To the right, an American flag hangs in from above, rolled over itself. Beyond this, pedestrians can be seen walking across a vacant street in which streetcar rails can be seen. Two- to three-story brick commercial buildings line the block to the left. To the right, a large gathering-house is visible, topped by American flags.; Legible signs from left to right include: "Rooms", "Roy's Place", "Trombridge's Market", "Hotel", "Farmers & Merchants National & Savings Banks", "Furniture", "Clothing, Shoes", "Hawthorne -- Redondo", "Garland Hotel", "Bathing", and "Theatre".
