Description
Photograph of a street near the Alameda between Santa Clara Street and San Jose Street, ca.1900. There is a dark-colored car stopped in the road, occupied solely by its driver, who is wearing a hat and a jacket. The street is marked by two sets of street car tracks, and the wires to support this mode of public transportation are visible suspended from wooden posts above the tree-lined street. There is another car parked in the lower right corner of the picture. There are fences on both sides of the street, blocked from view by the closely spaced trees.
