Description
Photograph of a view of Sixth Street looking west from Main Street, Los Angeles, 1903. Five pedestrians can be seen scattered in the intersection of the two streets, their faces indeterminate. Utility poles line the sidewalks, a two-story house to the left, a one-story to the right. Billboards are visible in the background. Streetcar tracks are embedded in the road. Image is a reproduction of a published photo. Picture file card reads: "The building at the left up the street, was the first 4 story building in the district and then was advertised as being out of the high rents.". Legible signs include: "[...] Everything at Cost", and "Lion Café / Try Gordon's [...] Old Crow [...] Bottled Goods a Specialty".
