Description
Photograph of a view of Canal Street (later Avalon Street) looking north from Third Street in Wilmington, Los Angeles, ca.1911. Streetcar rails run across the frame in the foreground, embedded in the unpaved road. A horse-drawn carriage makes its way along the side of the road to the left, while an automobile is parked to the right. Utility poles and shop fronts line the street to either side. To the right, a building that advertises "[...] W. Peakcock Real[ity]" and properties stands in front of a church. Trees are visible in the background. Photo is taken near a Pacific Electric station.
