The Patriotic Hall can be seen in the extreme background.
Other visible buildings and businesses are: "Elzee Motor Car Co." (was located at 1234 S Olive Street); "Beverly Hotel"; "S.G. Stephens" (was located at 206 West Pico Boulevard); "Iris Apartments" (at 1220 South Olive Street); "Safeway Tire Co." (at 214 West Pico Boulevard); to the left of the "S.G. Stephens", the "G.S. Donaldson Investment Co." can be seen at 200 West Pico Boulevard; the "California Fireproof Storage Co., Warehouse No 2" (was at 1320 Margo Street); the "Modern Auto Supply Co." Title
Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
