Description
Photograph of Sherman Indian School grounds in Riverside, ca.1910. The school is comprised of many buildings that surround a very large courtyard in the foreground. Young trees are scattered across the courtyard, often near the footpaths. Many of the buildings, of Spanish-style architecture, feature multicurved gables, arched windows, arcades, bell towers, dome towers, crosses on the peaks of buildings, and Spanish tiled roofs. A building with identical done towers is visible at center. Water sprinklers can be seen watering the lawn.
